Mr. Ratcliffe received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1974 from Memphis State University, Memphis, TN and a Master of Science degree in 1977 from the University of Tennessee Medical School, Memphis, TN – Department of Microbiology.

He began his career as a student research technician advancing to senior research assistant in the laboratory of Dr. Preston H. Dorsett, Ph.D. He left the academic research environment to co-found Viral Antigens, Inc. a Memphis, TN based Biotechnology firm where he served as Personnel Director (Human Resources), Managing Director of Operations, V.P. of Regulatory Affairs and served on the Board of Directors.

Mr. Ratcliffe has more than 18 years experience managing a multi-product line medical device company, training and managing dozens of production and quality control employees. He was responsible for employee recruiting, hiring interviews, compensation management, company benefits, grievances, conflict resolution and annual job performance evaluations. Mr. Ratcliffe also served many years as official company liaison for FDA, USDA and ISO 9000 quality system auditors, negotiating, arbitrating and resolving regulatory and quality control issues. Mr. Ratcliffe retired from Viral Antigens, Inc. when it was purchased by an Ohio based company.

In addition to his corporate experience Mr. Ratcliffe is a dual listed Tennessee Rule 31 Neutral, Family and Civil Mediator, and a volunteer for MARRS (Mediation and Restitution Reconciliation Service) performing mediations for Juvenile offenders their families and various plaintiffs. He is adept at listening, teaching, coaching and interacting with all people.
